Yes. So many of these "popular outfits" that capture the imagination of the general public like 23andme, set off my jewdar to 10+. If anything they should be paying you to take one given how important it is to some of these (((tribe))) members and the studies they use them for.

Had the head of molecular biology, a great DR whom I interned for (and respected, doing genetic research into pathologies at a hospital) swear to me that this is the only one, in North America at the time anyway, that did the procedure right. No contamination with other samples (which is the usual problem) and they used the best technology (obviously have a big budget) to give you the most relevant information on your personal profile which gets updated online and can visit for the rest of your life. He has a community of doctors to draw from who agree, did the DNA test himself and is one of the city's leading authorities on the subject. This was back a few years ago. So I'm confident in spreading this around.

Same here. My family is huge into genealogy and I've followed it back to before my family came to the states from Europe but I'm still interested to see of anything I'm not expecting pops up.
