I'm in the thread because I was reading it to find out where things were taking place. I saw that someone brought up Fredericksburg. That would be a doable drive for me. Then someone else complained that Fredericksburg was too far for them. The bullshit part came from what seems to be a feeling that if you're in the Austin/San Marcos/San Antonio area, you need to be catered to. Kind of like you're all still in college and only your difficulties are important.

Well sorry to be the bearer of bad news but 99% of the Austin group events take place in Austin, because this is the Austin thread.

It's an hour and a half drive one way. I'm not going to organize my group of 30 to go meet one random guy. We've talked about taking a group trip out there, but you're just too far away to warrant a closer meet up.

The bullshit part came from what seems to be a feeling that if you're in the Austin/San Marcos/San Antonio area, you need to be catered to.

That's where the bulk of our members are, The San Marcos and San Antonio groups don't have enough members to form their own standalone group so they tag along with us. And yeah, we recognize and cater to the needs of the group. We're going to meetup where people live it's rare that we decide to meet up far outside where everyone lives, unless there's an event we all want to go to.

Kind of like you're all still in college and only your difficulties are important.

nice strawman. I agree with Milesius. form your own group in your own thread and stop bitching about how we don't want 30 of us to jump up and take a field trip to cater specifically to you. That other guy that suggested fredericksburg ended up moving to Austin by the way.

Nobody asked to be catered to on this end. And I was looking at a central TX group not an Austin group. There are more out here than " just one random guy" and we all have connections to other places (college station, Abilene,San Angelo, there are more) during the week but we live around here. So we want to meet around here as we are working in the other places. Anyway, if meeting up with you is going to be this hard, we'll just figure something else out. Your kind of like the girl you met at the bar that was real clingy and lived too far away- just not worth it.

That is a great idea except that some of us (not me) are in occupations which require discretion, and most of the rest of us are in other areas of the state during the week for work. We make money around the hethen and live among our own. We were just interested in communing w/ and getting to know other like minds in the hill country. Others here just got their feathers ruffled when that was not intended, but the ruffling ( or rustling haha) showed their self righteousness and insecurity. There is no ill will or disrespect intended except toward the individual who needs to wash the sand from his vagina.

Azz is traveling for events but those guys in the northwest travel all over the region to hang out with each other. They are the biggest group that hangs together despite there being more guys in Texas.

You don't have to travel every weekend. It's about networking and doing things to build that network. The guys from Dallas and Houston meet in Austin once or twice a year. This is what has to happen to build relationships and build an organization state wide.

You came into the thread saying our meeting places were "bullshit" and acted surprised when Austin people met in the Austin area. I don't know what you were going for but that's what I took from it.

Had you come in here and instead said something like "Hey Austin guys, I've got a group of my own centered around the Junction area that would would like to meet your group. Fredericksburg is a good halfway point for a meeting spot, do y'all have any interest in that?" That would have been different.

I have no ill will towards you would like to get along with you but if you wanted our groups to meet, why didn't you just say so?

Hey, last night I went to a fireworks display at Black Tree Ranch in Smithville.

HOLY SHIT! This place is a world-class shooting facility where they train police, swat, military, civilians about shooting, self-defense, and VIP protection. It's right off of 71 and the headquarters (or "lodge") is at the top of a bluff that has been leveled off. From there you can overlook a rifle range, and a covered pistol range that were carved out of giant hills with heavy machinery. They even have a helicopter pad for training to shoot out of helicopters.

I've never seen a shooting business that has gone in with such a massive scale; obviously there are backers with serious money. Courses are not cheap, but it's very cool that we have such an awesome facility right here in central Texas.

I'm going to take their defensive pistol course and I will report back. The shooting sports is one great way to meet our kind of people. In the future it would be great to set up a course just for our crew.

P.S. The fireworks display was magnificent and lots of fun because one of the shooter guys had a drone that he was flying in and out among the mid-air explosions. Never seen that before.
