Can the bbs handle an Ignore command for users?

Just wondering if this site or the software can implement an ignore function. I know there's one for notifications but by now the forum is growing so big it could use an 'ignore' option for users other users disagree with.

Before anyone says 'Well you should just not pay any attention to it', the ignore function would allow this to be more effective. Plus there's a lot of egos in the White Nationalist movement etc.

I think it's a good way to stop in-fighting, however Facebook and Twitter suffer from the problem that you can isolate yourself into a small circle of user's who validate your every choice and don't challenge anything you say.

Obviously DS is already a sort of 'safe space' for a lot of people I just wonder how far it should go.

Maybe you block users for a certain time period then if you come into more posts you feel are against what you stand for you block them again.

Obviously people with the Jude tag should be able to be permanently blocked.
