So I am kind of becoming a fan of Colorado Springs Antifa; they seem like pretty well motivated folks and while I obviously disagree with them on some issues, big picture; I think we are kind of on the same side... all these little skirmishes we are having are like a training session, a dress rehearsal for the real war that is to come.
Today I wanted to comment on one of their more recent articles, which can be found here
Its kind of a long list of names and faces.... which is creepy in and of itself...
"We all tolerate (with varying levels of coercion) U.S. Military and local Law Enforcement because they ostensibly have some kind of civilian oversight."
We are all going to have to tolerate civilian over-sightless right wing death squads with extreme levels of coercion~ we were going to have some civilian checks and balances but we just don't, after all we are not real soldiers so you can only ask so much from us. You might say it was a civilian oversight, on our part.
Seriously though; if the militia (which is by definition comprised of civilians) uses varying levels of coercion you are going to have to tolerate it because they are fundamentally kept in check by civilians.
"These patriot groups were created to ostensibly uphold the constitution and protect individual liberty, but time and again are seen collaborating with law enforcement"
Which we all tolerate due to their civilian oversight and use of varying levels of coercion.
The takeaway is that CO Springs anti-fa has replaced the Rocky Mountain collective as the primary anti-fascist force in colorful Colorado. They seem dedicated and thoughtful, and they deserve our respect for that; and while I obviously do not agree with everything they represent, we do seem to have a little bit of overlap in our political philosophies. In the future I plan to talk about some of our similarities, but the law and order issue is one of our major differences.
CO Springs anti-fa is pretty prolific with their media releases, so I expect y'all can look forward to more article rebuttals in the future.
