I'm alive and well, goyim. Minor stuff, but my participation here (and, well, outside the immediate locale generally) was hindered for a time by having the phone and internet service shut off.
I want to hear from everyone even remotely interested in festivities for celebrating The Führer's birthday. Men I'm speaking to IRL (I've been beating our drum in one way or another since high school, and so have a small IRL cadre, some of whom go back that far) are primarily concerned with taking, or unable to take, Friday the 21st off work to deal with what the presume (correctly) might be a late night followed by a light hangover (we're not getting any younger, men).
My plan from the outset has been to make my home available to all comrades from the night of Thursday the 20th through that of Saturday the 22nd. The question that my interactions with these guys has prompted is: are we perhaps better off "observing" the date on Friday or Saturday night? I want everyone to weigh in here. The span of dates in terms of venue availability (lol - it's funny referring to my house in this way) means, I'm sure, that there will be a form of celebration on each of these days, and that's fine. I'm looking for as much input and consensus as possible, though, simply in the name of maximizing attendance - from my own cadre, our SBC, and the Charlotte/NC boys - hell, honestly anyone we can reach, whether here (Georgia SBCs?) or via personal knowledge, friendly to the cause. The purpose for using my place in this manner is twofold: 1) that all men so assembled might be at ease to truly speak their minds; and 2) that all men know they have a friendly place to bed down, so that neither drinking habits nor driving distance stand in the way of anyone's attendance.
My place isn't anything spectacular by any stretch, and much of it is devoted to, or heavily influenced by, my daughters (yes, there's a room with friggin' pink walls), but I literally view it as something I share not just with my family but with anyone on our side. Let no man who wants to participate refrain from doing so because he doesn't know me personally. Please! Consider the place an SA barracks for those few days. I'm picturing keeping things simple: a pile of meat to throw on the grill, along with any other food anyone would like to bring along. I'm hoping that we can at least accrue numbers to warrant beer in a keg. I've located sources with a fine array of varieties and barrel sizes. I'm weighing options for the placement and accommodations for a bonfire and/or firepit, but consider this a prerequisite. All are encouraged to make known any food and drink preferences, and of course to bring any favorites about which they feel strongly. Depending on numbers, one point of concern is whether I have adequate seating - particularly of the outdoor variety. Any man who wants to show up with one of those folding camp/tailgate chairs is perhaps doing himself a favor.
I have a host of ideas as far as video presentations I consider required viewing, music choices, etc. I welcome all input and discussion on the subject. I also think some participation from the group is necessary. A party is all to the good - and much-needed for some of us, I'm sure - but I am adamant that the gathering pay express and just tribute to The Führer. He devoted - and ultimately chose to give - his life to/for all of us, and remains our inspiration and example - as he was for so many of our fallen - of absolute dedication to duty unto death.
If anyone is definitely attending AND interested in participating in the tribute (I'm thinking in the form of reading certain selections to the group), please make that known here, as well.
