I'm new here also; currently in Plano/Richardson area but I could make it up to Denton for an initial meeting if you want to build a community there. I have some roots in that area.

It is probably a better idea to get involved with the first DFW meetup and as we get some numbers, rotate the meeting place to different areas of the metroplex.

With enough momentum, the more active members can build a more localized community.

It's not so much that I'm unwilling to drive long distances, I just know myself and I have trouble maintaining friendships with people I live far away from. I may be interested in a meetup if people nearby are there

The Bowie Boys are doing a hike this weekend at the National Grasslands north of Decatur. We want to invite anyone from the DFW group to join us. Its gonna be a good time.
