I want to start this article with my deepest sympathies and condolences for the family of the victim. It is a real shame what happened; a little girl is going to grow up without a mother, and a person who was just starting out in life is gone. My empathy extends to the people of Fort Collins. One of your daughters is gone. You, the reader personally, probably saw this person and never thought much of it... and now your chance to get to know this young woman is lost forever. ...
Apparently what happened is the 23 year old victim was walking home from work after she got off her shift at McDonald's at about one in the morning; and her body was found in the lake, still wearing her uniform. It is sad for me to admit it, but my first thought upon hearing the news was that a young woman has no business walking through central park in Fort Collins alone at night. It is not safe.
I am not angry at the police; as much as they would like to be, they can not be at all places at once. I am not even really mad at the perp who killed her, I mean I am; he should face justice... and if the murderer is reading this I urge you to turn yourself in, for your immortal soul's sake. The punishment you will face in life is amnesty compared to the hell fire that awaits you after death should you "get away" with this crime.

Anyone with information about Hoffmannâs death that may help investigators is asked to call Fort Collins Police at 970-221-6575. You can also call Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868. You can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward.
I feel angry that this has happened before, and it will happen again.

Our communities are in danger! Colorado used to be a nice place to live, and it can be again.

Rest in peace, Heather âHelenaâ Hoffmann
