Momentum. The huge user base. The ability to find virtually all family, friends and colleagues on it. Business. Dating? Access to all kinds of special interest groups. These are all good reasons for maintaining an account.

Apart from that, anyone posting personal details, 'checking in', attempting political debate and socialising and hangin out on it is a normie idiot. It's best kept desk-bound too rather than on one's mobile devices.

Fake friends will eventually be seen as embarrassing.
"Personal accounts" are not personal for people who are not single. Like any multi-level-marketing training, you use your contacts to sell your business products and services. If people cleared out their "friends" whose posts 80% of the time mention "news" about what they sell, they would be down to just family.
Family posts birthday greetings once a year.
Business "personal" accounts amazingly find things to post daily.
Business "friends" are the ones who post "you look fabulous!" when you post a pic of yourself with a word shaved into your head.
When married people figure out how embarrassing it is to get 100 "birthday greetings" from businesses, they will clean out their "friends" list on facebook. Or...they will stop posting anything personal.
