These two lost my respect when neither knew what civil forfeiture is, how it's grown in misuse, why it's a horrible idea... To these two if Jeff Sessions is for it, then it's always okie dokie, because.... Well because Sessions is a fellow southerner and hence infallible.
If Christ himself were to return and suggest civil forfeiture as practiced, it would still be a horrible idea. There's no need for a conviction... There isn't even a need for a charge!- property is assumed guilty until proven innocent. In many jurisdictions, the loot goes into the police departments own coffers- talk about setting up an unholy incentive. The whole thing is a horrible idea.
