why? old skool is the best.
Tabletop wargames, unlike modern computer games have no PC mesage whatsoever in them and are great fun.
Hell you can even have some beers and have a game, and make it a party.
Ive been playing 40k since 2nd ed when Terminators had a 3+ save on 2D6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fucking epic back then.
8th ed is the most simple 40k system to date, which could be a good thing in some ways, but alot of tactical elements have been stripped from the game.
Your army used to excel at outflanking at hitting the enemy in the rear? there is no rear per say any more.
If you used to play so that you would position your squads, so that they could shoot out the enemy special weapons? No longer works, as your opponent choses casualties now, where they used to be the models that were the closest to whatever shot them etc.
So a mixed bag really, and things will come into their own when proper codicies come out, as currently every army is using a basic template. so yeah, im waiting to see what unique stuff each army can do, once their rules are released in full!
