The golden age of Anime was pretty much the 1980s to about 2000. Akira was when it really took off internationally and began to decline with the start of the perpetual financial recession in Japan.

Urotsuki Doji. The demons in it reminded me of the dark forces that dabble against the Jews and corrupt our folk I think...

The music is kinda jingly

It;s not Hentai AFAIK (Hentai came later), but not far off it. The combat sequences and deception over the characters who think they are getting a good saviour when it's this satanic hell on earth is pretty scary.

I saw some skateboarders way back in the day rocking t-shirts for that show.
I remember thinking "who the hell would wear a shirt outside infront of people for a hentai cartoon series".

Here's the thing that crazy show wasn't Hentai (technically). Hentai porn is a specific genre, while Overfiend was Anime which means drawn female genetalia and it being penetrated is banned.
