Appearance is important. I personally have always eschewed the skinhead aesthetic for this exact reason, even when I spent some time in the music side of the scene. Great energy but not exactly a magnetic appeal to their visual style, for me at least.
To be quite honest, I've been a lifelong racist (sort of the family business, it seems) and for years I was absolutely dissatisfied with the state of WN. To the point of not even engaging online with Stormfront brownshirt LARPers types who would call me, a kid with real NatSoc relatives, a jew. As much as I may argue against moderates flooding an extremist political movement, it's gone a long way in normalizing the message, bringing previously cut-off, unsatisfied nationalists to the table (now that the table isnt a bunch of 50 year old ex cops and paraphenalia vendors). This had made our lives easier, even for those who might relentlessly counter signal it (I've got my own opinions, and I think we need thought leaders who push to the right rather than just the centre, but that's a whole other issue and doesn't seem to be a problem yet). My only concern is, as always, seeing the devaluation of long held ideals to appeal to a base of people who you must work to cultivate and keep. But as a pragmatist with a wife and arriving child, I'd rather leave my kid some kind of moderate civic nationalism than our current lunatic, Hebrew liberalism. That said, I'd rather GTKRWN always.
Good write up. Nothing less appealing than a bunch of unhealthy, toothless burger 'nationalists'. In my opinion the fascist ideology is as much a personal improvement one as a political one.
Biggest takeaway in terms of striking a chord. Always beware the overly ironic man in a serious movement. They are likely not serious people and only drawn to power or infamy (or the illusion of either).
