Can you guys riddle me that? I bought a new internal 525GB SSD and yet in Computer is shows only 488GB.
Now I understand that a certain amount is reserved for recovery or recycle bin or whatever, but can that really be 30GBs?
30GB are reserved for backup redundancy - look it up you lazy fag!
I'm a boomer.
I'm sure it for Windows it's tells you how much backup Windows is consuming.
This link will quickly give you the answer to your question:
I see your SSD is now over half full. Not good.
Whenever a boomer asks questions..
Bill gates is claiming that space is used by Windies for backup but in reality he cobbles all of that space over all ssd drives in the world (on Windows machines) for his satanic Jew world supremacy mission cleverly disguised and existing right under everyone's noses.
Either that or it's Putin
One does doesn't merely buy an ssd drive and expect the NSA to not have a place in it!
Thanks man. Regarding that second article, well it's from 2013. A lot has changed with SSDs since then. I have no issues with slowing down whatsoever.
@Mr_Bond How much RAM do you have?
8GB, does that have anything to do with it?
Pretty sure it does. I can't find the article right now and I need to get ready for work. I think the 8 gigs of RAM will take up 8 gigs of SSD space. But don't quote me on this. I'll try and find the article after work
Oops, I misread your post. This should explain thingshttp://www.tomshardware.com/forum/245851-32-hard-disk-label-actual-capacity-difference-excessive
It's the difference between engineering and marketing. Marketing says 1,000 bytes is a kilobyte, when it's actually 1,024 (2^10).
A gig is 2^30 or 1,073,741,824 bytes
Break it down:
524,976,910,336 / (2^30) = 488.9 (roughly)
Thank you guys.
@Vitamin-KKK Fucking Jews and their marketing.
The harddrive on my lappy is like %95 full. There's like 30gigs of space left. Is that bad?
No excuse - i'm into late 50's!
Exactly! I mysteriously lost a number of HDDs in a row and when the next one was going south reporting bad sectors all over the place I resorted to expanding disk space to include reserved sectors with a Hirens Boot Disk utility. It was malware hiding right there!
What this guy said.
What the fuck, I thought you were like 20 at a push
