I thought the fact that David uses the black-goo to make the Aliens was rather clear... at the end of Prometheus.

Well, that convoluted process was thought to be distinct from the aliens found on the derelict in the first film, the idea being that the black goo always produces an alien like creature given enough time. In the original version of Prometheus, Ridley had the Punk-Rock guy actually transform into a Proto-Xenomorph after falling into the goo. They chose not to go with that and had him become just an uninspiring zombie.

Now, however, all the Xenomorphs seen in all the films are directly related to David's experimentation on the Paradise planet.

With horror movies its better when they just keep the origin of creatures vague/unknown. They need to stop pandering to the autistic fan base that needs to know every little detail about things, because in the end it just ends up disappointing people.

Its why the first two alien movies were a masterpiece, especially the first. Because you barely ever saw the Aliens and had no idea what they were, or what their intentions were. The cinematographers only ever used close up camera shots where you couldn't make out the entire creature, which left it up to the viewers imagination and made it that more creepy.

I'm really glad that you spoiled this for me. I love Alien and Aliens and those are the only two I count, though I find the further movies more tolerable than say the Terminator movies after the second one in that series...

...I really hate the whole, "the aliens were a bio-weapon/designed by somebody" angle. I liked it better when they were just animals. It had a perfect life cycle and that made it scary; they were like giant insects.

Just seems like Ridley saw Blomkamp wanted to do one that left out 3 and Res, and Ridley's like, "screw this; I did the first one, I should be making a bunch of money off it now that it's this big pop culture icon."

The movie looks like it fits more with the Paranormal Activity crowd of kids these days. It doesn't even look like Ridley's usual quality. It's like whoever made The Conjuring or that kind of forgettable shit made Covenant. Now I don't have to waste one of my movie passes on it; thanks.
