I have Asus laptop and similar problem. The battery wasn't charging even tho the charger was plugged in and laptop wouldn't turn on.
I took out the battery from laptop and then connected the charger, it worked.
Never buy Asus laptop.
RIP laptop charger, the same thing happened to my laptop. they make the chargers to break i'm sure. I have an Asus ROG "gaming laptop" (yeah never get one lol) and you would think that it would have some nicer parts but its pretty much a piece of shit.
