Robots will quickly become a major part of the fast food industry over the next decade.

Pretty soon there will be no need for low wage labor from third world populations to work in the fast food industry. The future of this business is moving towards robotics and automation.

Grilling burgers may be fun on the Fourth of July, but less so if hot grease is your daily grind.

Enter Miso Robotics. The southern California start-up has built a robotic "kitchen assistant" called Flippy to do the hot, greasy and repetitive work of a fry cook. Flippy employs machine learning and computer vision to identify patties on a grill, track them as they cook, flip and then place them on a bun when they're done.

Miso is part of a budding kitchen automation industry. Its peers include Zume Pizza, Cafe X, Makr Shakr, Frobot and Sally, which are developing robots to help commercial kitchens churn out pizzas, lattes, cocktails, frozen yogurt, and salads.

In a recent CNBC interview, Yum Brands CEO Greg Creed predicted robots would replace fast food workers by the mid-2020s. It's not as if workers love those jobs.

Employee turnover in the restaurants and accommodations sector was 73 percent in 2016, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Fry cooks, the people who flip burgers (or fillets) all day at a hot grill, move on from the job faster than others in the field.

They've already got burger-flipping robots.

There's even a robotic pizza restaurant.

McDonald's is already adopting automated kiosk ordering systems.

This type of technology is only going to get cheaper. Eventually it will become a commodity sort of like what we've seen with computers and smart phones.

Demands from the Bernie Sanders crowd for a $15 an hour minimum wage have only sped up the adoption of this technology. They're basically asking the government to mandate a wage that is above and beyond what the job is really worth. This means that restaurants will scale back on their hiring and look towards automation to keep their businesses solvent.

We are going to see this trend continue in other industries as well. The need for cheap labor to perform repetitive and mundane tasks is eventually going to disappear. All that will be needed are intelligent White men to manage, maintain and update these advanced systems.

This will effectively eliminate the single excuse we've been given to justify the presence of these third world populations in our countries. Futurism will make these people totally and completely irrelevant.

Fast-food jobs were meant to be a stepping stone to gain experience & responsibility while learning with a simple job. With current health trends there may even be a rebellion against fast-food entirely causing many of these conglomerates to fail.

Regardless, nobody should be eating this filth.

In the next couple years we're going to get hit hard with lower level automation in service sector jobs. This is gonna be a big problem even if you're not in these industries.

This is going to be a massive problem because you can pretty much guarantee the US government will not consider implementing a basic income until like a third of the jobs have disappeared. This means millions of jobs will go away, and then these people will be forced with no compensation to enlarge the already ridiculously big lines for the other available jobs...More workers, less jobs means downward pressure on wages... giving companies a constant supply of new supply of workers to use for a while, fire then repeat.

It's already been a ridiculously shitty situation for years but an deregulated, ununionized work force being rapidly replaced and outsourced is going to put workers in a shockingly bad position where they have no bargaining power or leverage in the worst kind of race to the bottom we've ever seen.

Robots will only become successful when they do away with motors, solenoids, microswitches, sensors, this is tech that does not last and is prone to failure, ok for repetetive work such as car making, but those robots need dedicated mechanics on site to keep them going.
Look at the Darpa robots, the walking one has a massive mains electricity cable, it could not function with batteries for any meaningful length of time. The four legged ones are mainly all batteries and would not be reliable enough. Dig a big hole and cover it with sticks and turf, it would fall in, end of!

Humans will always be able to find a way to beat them. They will only get to be a real threat when they are bio-machines like terminators and have batteries like Iron Mans Heart, until then they are just a wet dream for transhumanists.

In a properly managed society, with a strong, positive national spirit focused on the common good and upholding Natural Law, with a righteous leader directing everything, something like this might be a good thing. But in our current situation, it is guaranteed to be a complete and utter disaster. They said the same types of utopian things about globalization, that it was OK to lose all the low-skill jobs because everyone would just go to college and become a white collar manager (aka a limp-wristed, brainwashed office drone).

The Industrial Revolution is the same: it could have been a good thing if properly managed by righteous leaders for the right reasons. But it wasn't. It happened so that kikes and spiritual kikes (soulless gentile Corporate executives, bankers, etc.) could make big money at the expense of everyone else. The goal was always profit above all else, and nothing more.

The Industrial Revolution was a shock to the social fabric that we have still not recovered from. It is directly responsible for both World Wars and consequently the situation we find ourselves in now. It was a bad thing that should never have happened, and the change to automation will be even more profound and even more disastrous for our people.

It's never a good idea to radically re-orient the way your society works, and especially not so that rich people can make more money.
