Imagine a WW2 MMO game with Warthunder tank's damage model of armor plating and component damage/destroying, historically accurate ballistics, in addition to having air/armor/infantry/naval/directartillery/lightmortar on the same map, flight simulator model, a map 1/2 the size of western Europe with campaigns that regularly last months of realtime, attrition based supply, that can have thousands of players in the same world, enemy players don't appear with a glowing arrow over their head, that was licensed to the Chinese army to train their military, and it came out in 2001.
It's the only game that will ever make you jump out of your seat.
I haven't played it in like 8 years, but damn it spoiled me.
This is the only game I ever played where I really HATED players on the other side. Allied easymode motherfuckers. I would go out of my way to camp their airfields with an anti aircraft gun, even if it took 20 minutes to drive there. You don't know how good this video feels.
The feeling is different than say Planetside 2. I log onto Planetside 2 and my goal is to farm certs. I log into WWIIONLINE and my goal is to kill those motherfuckers on the enemy side, kill them more than they kill me, deny them movement, harass and grief, show up when they least expect it until there is nowhere safe for them to be and give them as much stress as possible those motherfuckers. I never hated like I did in that game, I think it had something to do with very asymetrical balance.
And then you got games like War Thunder, or World of tanks/Warships. How boring. Every plane starts out at the exact same altitude, facing the exact same way, with the exact same ground forces that need to be bombed, in the exact same position, on this tiny map. And those ground forces aren't even players. And in tank battles there are no enemy infantry/air/naval/artillery so what's those MG's for. And in War Thunder tank battles aircraft are just suicide machines that kamakazee in the exact same way after they spawn at the exact same altitude, at the exact same distance. I mean come on, where is the variety.
