Remember the great Brit. writer D.H. Lawrence spoke of what he called,"The Living Dead"--men & women whose very souls had been crushed by the de-humanizing industrial/mechanical society that had been created by the Industrial Revolution...(also further explored by the equally great Anthony Burgress in his neo-Orwellian novel,"A Clockwork Orange"),without a doubt,Lawrence never forgot what happen to his own father, who was a miner,in northern England,in the late 19th & early 20th Centuries...so,in point of fact, the whole, recent "Zombie" craze appeals to the inner emptiness most people feel today about our sterile,anti-social,brain-dead,"modern society": in their heart of hearts, the majority of people in our, highly troubled, times,do FEEL,like they are the "Walking Dead"!?!
