I've heard DC Rebirth is decent. Especially compared to the 'lol fuck canon' approach that Marvel seems to have towards alienating the only people who ever purchased their product en-masse. Fucking shitty Marvel movies have made it so they can totally torpedo their entire comics division and do away with even the barest attempts to not visibly pander to every anti-white mongrel possible - even back in the 90s they still had to do their best to appeal to young male testosterone.
I took a huuuuge break from reading comics when I started focusing on my career for a few years and I'm just now getting back into shit like Marvel's 'Secret Invasion' event from 2008 on some of my free time (now that I've secured a from-home position with fantastic salary and future prospects - but hey, work-pleasure balance doesn't seem to be something taught anymore).
Come to think of it, even when I was going through school they didn't put much emphasis on effort and sacrifice - if it weren't for my dad and my uncles, I don't know what the fuck I would have turned out as. Scary to think about, what's happening to some of these people with no healthy male role models. No wonder there are so many man-children out there whose ONLY interests are comics, vidya, TV, etc. Sure, I've got a big collection of comics (digital nowadays), but it's dwarfed by my library of ACTUAL books, and I don't just do my shooting in video games - I make sure I'm more proficient with a real rifle than a digital one. Nothing wrong with some escapism in such a shit world, it's just got to be the proper form of escapism, and carefully curated in both content and quantity.
I'm anxious as fuck about having a kid, I'll tell you what.
