what are your most useful free programs?

one of mine is VT Hash Checker, which automatically checks the hash of a file against the Virus Total database and if its already there gives you the results and if its not there yet allows you to automatically upload it without having to deal with the VT webpage in the browser

also if you add it to your download manager as the anti-virus program, it does all of this automatically for any new file you download

I use PCSX2 occasionally, and it's quite alright.

VLC Media Player and MusicBee are also good.

I also use BurnAware occasionally for making audio CDs and mp3 CDs.

Over a year ago, a friend showed me a little loophole on the COMODO internet security site that allowed me to download the premium version for free. Maybe that counts, I don't know. Works pretty nicely, though -- and I use it every time I turn my computer on.

The freeware version of Chaotica (fractal design) was so good, I upgraded. I like creating fractals.

VLC is excellent.

It's ironic it's free because it's possibly the best media player there is.

I can't get to grips with GIMP. Each time I try something goes wrong and I get so angry I feel like smashing my computer up. I don't know how anyone manages to use it.
